Forms for completing your trades training with AIT:
  1. Register as an Apprentice:
Please note: If you live outside Alberta but wish to register with AIT, you must use a different form. See AIT's website. CAODC encourages rig employees to register with their home province if the Rig Tech province is offered there.

  2. Challenge Technical Training:
Are you confident that you can pass the exam apprentices write at the end of the technical training?

Apprentices have the option to challenge up to two of the three technical training classes in the Rig Tech program.

  3. Use Past Experience to get Your Journeyman Certificate:
    Are you an experienced driller?

If you have 6750 hours working as a motorhand, derrickhand or driller (at least 1000 of these hours must be working as a driller) over a period of 54 months, you can apply to write a Qualification Exam.

You must submit with this application a form from previous employers verifying the time you worked in these occupations.
